RATING ENGINEAgoura Hills, Calif.-based Fiserv FSC Inc., a unit of Fiserv Inc., has released its multistate Gateway FSC Internet personal lines rating engine. Gateway FSC is designed for insurance companies, financial institutions, Internet insurance lead referral and portal development companies and independent insurance agencies that need to deliver accurate auto and homeowners insurance rates to customers via the Web.

AGENCY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Sintech Software LLC, a Chicago-based application service provider of Web-based agency management systems, has discontinued its online property/casualty agency management system, ProSpector. The company chose to discontinue ProSpector because the infrastructure and general acceptance of an XML standard in the industry are unavailable and were pertinent components to providing advanced features.

MARKETING SUITE

Privately held Seurat Co., Boulder, Colo., recently released Seurat Suite-Internet-based services designed to cover the customer lifecycle. The suite includes managed analytics, customer profile management, campaign testing and management, e-channel management, dialogue management, dynamic content management, contact center optimization, creative asset management and marketing measurement.

PROSPECTING TOOL

Los Angeles-based Lead.net, a division of IdentityWeb Inc., has introduced ClientMaker, a Web-based, prospect relationship management system for agents who are members of the Lead.net affiliate network. The ClientMaker system enables agents to create a set of tailored e-mails, online greeting cards, hardcopy mailers and phone scripts. The system will automatically distribute electronic and print communications according to a defined schedule.

HIPAA TRAINING

MIB Compliance Training Services released HIPAA Privacy Primer. The Web-based training program is designed to help insurers provide employees with information about the regulations of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. The Primer explains regulations in a variety of situations, offers six different quiz formats, and permits managers to monitor employee training and issue certificates of completion. MIB Compliance Training Services are provided through the e-services division of MIB Group Inc., Westwood, Mass.

AGENT AUTOMATION

American Financial Systems Inc., Weston, Mass., has released what it believes is the first Internet-based system designed specifically for the multilife Corporate Owned Life Insurance (COLI) market. With AFS-LINK, producers will be able to perform pre-sale illustrations, submit applications, and perform post-sale administration all online.

RATING AND UNDERWRITING

Duck Creek Technologies Inc., Bolivar, Mo., has unveiled Example Express, a Web-based rating, underwriting and submission application. Example Express provides a password-protected workspace for quoting new business and managing quotes in progress. Agents can automatically underwrite accounts for acceptability and electronically submit qualified applications. Underwriters can manage and review marginal business, approve it or decline it, and post decisions back to agents.

BRAND CONTINUITY

The Genelco Software Solutions division of Liberty Insurance Services Corp., St. Louis, has changed its product names under one family brand name, Genelco Enterprise Suite+. Life Support Plus is now Genelco Life+, Reinsurance Support Plus is now Genelco Reinsurance+, the Health Benefit Management System is now Genelco Group+, Health Claims Plus is now Genelco Claims+, Benefit Administration Plus is now Genelco Administration+, and Genelco Payout is a new product for flexible repetitive payout processing.

SPECIAL INVESTIGATIONS

LexisNexis, Dayton, Ohio, unveiled a Web-based investigative research tool, called LexisNexis Insurance Solutions. The tool accesses the largest public records collection available to the insurance industry. The subscription-based service is designed for special investigative units, fraud unit managers and investigators, loss control and risk management departments.

PORTAL TECHNOLOGY

Markham, Ontario-based InSystems Technologies Inc. has introduced eXterity software for building portals. Designed to complement customer relationship management technology, eXterity includes embedded business rules, an insurance data scheme and built-in industry best practices for transactions, fulfillment and service.

DATA ANALYSIS TOOL

Dallas-based Universal Conversion Technologies has released its Data Analysis Reporting Tool (DART)-a tool designed to gather data from a host environment and present it on a PC platform. DART formats, organizes and configures host data into easy-to-read PC reports that can be shared, e-mailed or printed.

INTERACTIVE SELLING

Selectica Inc., San Jose, Calif., is introducing the Selectica eInsurance Suite, an interactive selling system for insurers. The suite includes Selectica eQuoting to help carriers assign and manage leads, standardize rates and quotes, and automate proposal generation; Selectica eEnrollment for self-service Web enrollment; and Selectica eAnalysis to assess the efficiency of underwriting resources.

E-LEARNING CENTER

New Providence, N.J.-based Life Instructors Inc., a unit of Fiserv Inc., has launched the Learning Resource Center, which features streamlined navigation, enhanced testing capabilities, and simplified continuing education procedures to improve e-learning for financial services professionals. Life Instructors creates computerized courses to meet licensing, regulatory and continuing education requirements.

DIRECT BILL COMMISSIONS

Dallas-based AMS Services Inc. is piloting the Direct Bill Commission Download for Sagitta Browser agents. The new feature automatically downloads direct bill commission statements from the carrier and enables the agent to review the downloaded detail prior to posting. Discrepancies are flagged.
