New York Life Names Information Department Senior VP

New York - New York Life Insurance Co. promoted Alexander Burbatsky to senior vice president in the corporate information department, reporting to senior vice president Eileen Slevin. 

Burbatsky is responsible for all aspects of delivery of infrastructure services, including operations and the implementation of existing and new technologies for all departments throughout the company, while overseeing a staff of more than 400 information processing professionals.

His areas of responsibility include business resumption services, personal computing services, system services, operations service management, telecommunications and network management, and data center operations. Personnel in these units are strategically distributed across five locations, including New York, Westchester, N.Y., Clinton, N.J., Atlanta, Ga., and Kansas City, Mo., all of whom support the company's corporate dual data center environment and New York Life's mission-critical systems and applications.

Burbatsky joined the company in 2000 and was promoted to first vice president in 2003. Prior to joining New York Life, he worked at Citibank, first as director of Northeast Operations, and later as vice president and director of North American Operations.
