Online Platform Offers Daily Enrollment Views

Columbia, S.C. - Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Company, a Columbia, S.C., business unit of UnumProvident Corp., Chattanooga, Tenn., has launched a new online enrollment platform that offers employers daily enrollment reporting and secure employee data exchange, reports the company.

The goal of the new system is to improve benefits communication for core and voluntary benefits, as well as to provide solutions for enrolling remote employees.

"Rising health care costs, smaller benefits program budgets and reduced human resources staff make it difficult for companies to effectively communicate benefits and enroll employees, as well as handle ongoing benefits enrollment administration," says Henry Price, senior vice president of customer acquisition services at Colonial Supplemental Insurance, the marketing brand of Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Company.

The HIPAA-compliant Harmony enrollment system operates from a password-protected, secure, Internet-based platform, and stores a company's enrollment information in one location so results are updated instantly each time an employee is enrolled. A central database offers employers access to daily enrollment reporting, an online benefits library, remote employee enrollment options, online benefits statements and 24/7 availability.
