Penn National Selects Guidewire for Billing Management

Penn National Insurance, a P&C insurance company, has selected BillingCenter from Guidewire as its billing management system. BillingCenter will handle both direct and agency billing for Penn National Insurance and will be deployed for all lines of business, starting with direct bill personal and commercial lines.

According to Guidewire, its billing and receivables management system is built on the core design principles of automation, control and flexibility. Penn National focused on selecting a new billing management system due to an increased importance of new payment methods and the need to provide real-time billing information on the Web. The carrier also emphasized the ability to integrate with agency management systems as well as an agility in supporting new products and new billing plans.

BillingCenter aims to make life easier for agents and policyholders doing buiness with Penn, and thereby, increase retention. Guidewire also claims it will optimize operational efficiency through automation and by providing a single view of billing-related data, which should resolve agent/policyholder inquiries faster.
