Openly, the home insurance carrier, announced that its homeowners insurance quotes will now be available on Policygenius, the tech-based platform for insurance and financial protections.

Customers will be able to compare Openly against other insurance carriers on the Policygenius online marketplace, according to the July 27 press release.

“The biggest challenge that agents and consumers face when looking for choice is the complexity of legacy systems,” said Chris Bacon, COO of Openly over email. “Too many questions, inconsistent processes lead to wasted time and energy. Openly helps Policygenius simplify the insurance process by having a simple three question quoting platform.”

Openly and Policygenius first began their negotiations in 2019, Bacon said. But, when Openly expanded to more states last year, the two companies worked more on the partnership.

“Policygenius strives to help our consumers get insurance right by providing the best coverage options and the best value, and adding Openly to the Policygenius marketplace helps us meet that goal,” said Jennifer Fitzgerald, CEO and co-founder of Policygenius, in an email. “The Openly platform provides a great user experience that makes it easy to submit and process claims. For our customer, Openly provides a great product and we’re happy to be working together.”

Openly has an existing integration with EZLynx, which Policygenius supports, so Openly was able to turn the credentials on after onboarding to the Policygenius platform, said Bacon.

“We did, however, partner with Policygenius to align on the necessary lead filters in their internal platform to ensure that the leads that their agents were prospecting aligned with Openly’s underwriting appetite and not creating unnecessary waste,” said Bacon.

Through Policygenius, Openly is currently available in Illinois, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Ohio, Wisconsin, Indiana, Massachusetts, New Mexico and Oklahoma.

“Being able to offer Openly quotes on our marketplace further reaffirms our commitment to helping consumers get insurance right, and adds a new and transparent tech-enabled product to our marketplace,” said Jennifer Fitzgerald, co-founder and CEO of Policygenius, in the press release.

Openly also announced a partnership with Snapsheet, a cloud-native claims management software, to digitize the claims process, according to a July 29 press release. The partnership will provide better customer experience, faster claims cycles and more transparency, per the press release.
