Offering everything from operating systems to customer relationship management (CRM) to agency management systems, an impressive force of software suppliers is offering a multitude of solutions to the industry. To seek out the most active participants in the industry, Insurance Networking recently polled end-users and the insurance software community.The goal of this directory is to capture the vendors that have the greatest impact on the industry. The directory, which begins on page 48, is culled from the results of a recent questionnaire mailing and industry research of leading players-both large and small. By no means is this a conclusive list; some companies that were contacted elected not to participate in the project. In addition, the revenue figures in some cases are based on figures provided by the vendors.
The rankings in most cases reflect companies' total revenues, which may include products and services not related to the insurance industry. Most vendors do not provide comprehensive revenue breakouts by market sector.
The Insurance Networking Top 20 are ranked by revenues reported for 2000. In addition, we have used this data to rank the 10 fastest-growing companies, based on revenue increases between 1999 and 2000. Companies included in this list are either publicly traded or were willing to divulge their revenues for this project.
