RIMAC, a Peruvian insurance company, has announced a new MobileFirst app for risk inspections created in partnership with IBM.

The risk management app, designed specifically for iOS and the iPad, allows RIMAC agents to remotely access client historical claims data and inspection records in real-time and evaluate different risks such as, fire, robbery and machinery failure. Risk Inspect also reduces the time needed to process a claim, according to the insurer.

"There's no doubt that this tool allows us to better address the specific needs of our clients,” said Miguel Gutiérrez, RIMAC engineering and prevention manager, in a statement. “"We believe this is the first mobile enterprise application for insurance risk management deployed in Latin America, positioning RIMAC as a leader in innovation and technology in the general insurance market."

RIMAC estimates its agents conduct about 400 field visits per month in Peru. So far, agents have noticed an estimated 45 minute decrease on inspections by using the app. Previously, agents relied on printed forms to complete an inspection or claim.
