Harbor Insurance partners with Way platform for roadside assistance

Harbor Insurance recently announced that it was partnering with car services platform Way to overhaul its roadside assistance program and provide a tech-powered experience for customers.

The partnership enables Harbor to provide an app-based experience that allows customers to track their roadside service in real time and even provides them access to perks such as savings on gas, car washes and parking. The response has been extremely positive, resulting in better customer retention and growth in their book of business.

Plymouth Rock and Innovative Benefit Planning launch new auto insurance program

Plymouth Rock Assurance has announced a new auto insurance discount program with Innovative Benefit Planning (Innovative). Through the program, members receive a variety of auto insurance discounts and benefits such as the Get Home Safe® taxi and rideshare reimbursement and Crashbusters® mobile claim service.

"Partnering with Innovative Benefit Planning allows us to support their mission of delivering meaningful, forward-thinking benefits to employer groups," said Greg Kalinsky, president & CEO of the Plymouth Rock Management Company of New Jersey in a statement. "As a trusted advisor in the employee benefits space, Innovative is known for creating tailored solutions that meet the needs of both employers and employees. By offering our voluntary auto insurance program, we're helping them expand those offerings with a solution that speaks to real, everyday needs."

Assurant teams with Arcadium Technologies to simplify trucking sales

Assurant, Inc., known for protecting and servicing connected devices, homes and vehicles, is teaming up with Arcadium Technologies, LLC, to simplify the sales process for truck dealerships. The partnership allows sales professionals to quickly quote and contract the Assurant Heavy Truck Extended Service Contract by reducing the need for data entry into two systems and reducing the possibility of errors.

"This partnership will make it easier for our dealer partners to present our class-leading heavy truck protection products at the right moment in the purchasing journey," said Dennis Alexander, vice president, commercial equipment, Assurant. "That will lead to better-informed buyers, higher attachment rates for dealers, and a faster transaction for all involved."

Travelers launches initiative addressing insurance availability and affordability

A new initiative from the Travelers Institute will focus on addressing the challenges of availability and affordability in the insurance marketplace. Through a series of educational events, webinars and other resources, the program known as Risk. Regulation. Resilience. Responsibility. will examine the environmental, economic and societal patterns affecting the availability and affordability of insurance across different markets.

"At its core, insurance is about bringing individuals and businesses together to pool resources to manage risk," said Alan Schnitzer, chairman and chief executive officer of Travelers in a statement. "But today, in certain jurisdictions, families and businesses are bearing the consequences of an insurance marketplace that isn't working the way it should. Solving the challenges will require committed partnership among policymakers, carriers and consumers – and the Travelers Institute is well positioned to convene these stakeholders and move our industry forward."

GreenieRE launches Renewable Energy Surety products with UCS
Reinsurer GreenieRE is focusing on a suite of products designed to provide bonds for renewable energy developers and utility owners should contracted projects not be completed or become unable to be fulfilled. GreenieRE is partnering with United Casualty and Surety Insurance Company (UCS) to launch the Renewable Energy Surety Program.

"Our surety program directly supports the buildout of renewable energy assets, enabling capital efficient credit support for developers and utilities," said Jeff McAulay, CEO of GreenieRE in a press release. "This partnership reflects our commitment to helping more domestic clean energy infrastructure get built quickly and responsibly. We are excited to partner with UCS and look forward to working with them to continue to drive innovation in risk transfer products."
