Stanton Group Names New President, Execs

Minneapolis — Stanton Group, a Minneapolis-based benefits, compensation and insurance services firm, announced Mike O’Brien as its new president, while also adding two new executives to its team.

O’Brien was officially named Stanton Group’s president March 14. In this role, he will provide strategic direction with overall responsibilities for the day-to-day management of Stanton Group. Jeff Nevin, Stanton Group’s CEO, says, “Mike has an unparalleled level of industry and sales expertise coupled with a broad network of relationships. I believe he has the ability to best position Stanton Group for future growth.”

Tom Ademite joined Stanton Group as managing director and VP for the property/casualty division. In his new role, Ademite will be responsible for overseeing the general operations, sales, marketing and growth of the property/casualty group.

Ademite brings with him over 20 years of industry experience and most recently served as EVP at Wells Fargo Insurance Services, managing their greater Minnesota and Bloomington commercial operations including sales and marketing initiatives.

Joe Thomas, sales, also recently joined Stanton Group. He is responsible for managing and originating organic sales and cross-sales efforts throughout Stanton’s five core practice areas, including employee benefits, compensation consulting and surveys, training and development, actuarial and retirement, and consulting and property/casualty insurance. 

Prior to joining Stanton Group, Thomas served as VP of enterprise sales at BenefitPoint, a division of Vertafore. Thomas has worked in insurance and technology sales since 1994 at companies such as AMS Benefits, ADP and Microsoft Great Plains VAR.
