FastTrack’s Transitional Service Tools (TST) were built to keep employees engaged in return-to-work opportunities while on short-term disability leave. Symetra absence managers can then use TST to determine the requirements of a claimant’s current job, collect physical capabilities data from medical providers, and identify interim work assignments consistent with the employee’s limitations. This approach can reduce the possibility of a short-term leave progressing into a long-term disability claim.

Career Service Tools (CST) were designed for employees on long-term disability leaves looking to re-enter the workforce. By way of one-on-one career counseling, vocational support, mentoring, interview skills training and job placement services, CST attempts to demonstrate the worker’s employability and motivation to get back to work.
