The Co-operators Group Goes Live with Guidewire

Guidewire Software, a San Mateo, Calif.-based provider of core systems to P&C insurers, says Guelph, Ontario-based The Co-operators Group Ltd., is live on Guidewire PolicyCenter and Guidewire BillingCenter, building upon its 2008 Guidewire ClaimCenter implementation.

The insurer is using the Guidewire InsuranceSuite for underwriting, policy admin, billing and claims, thereby streamlining processes, business rules and skills across P&C companies, Guidewire says.

Additionally, Guidewire reports that with InsuranceSuite, The Co-operators gain a flexible product model that supports offerings aligned to the needs of specific market segments; an intuitive system for its multi-channel distribution partners and staff; an ability to introduce new products across companies and channels quickly and efficiently; the capability to better serve its clients when and how they want; and higher quality information for better business decisions and client management.

 

State Auto Group to Use HP Exstream

State Auto Group, a Columbus, Ohio-based property/casualty insurer operating in 34 states, will implement HP Exstream customer communications software, a product of Palo Alto, Calif.-based HP. HP Exstream is designed to help enterprises manage their customer communications from design through delivery, regardless of complexity or variability.

HP says that with HP Exstream, State Auto can have more control over customer documents than before, including consistent branding, fast production time, ease of use and legal compliance, regardless of document type or content. State Auto is consolidating from seven different platforms-including Oracle's Documerge-to the single HP Exstream platform to reduce costs, increase client response rates and ensure consistent customer interactions, says HP.

 

A.I.M. Mutual Selects

Tropics Software

A.I.M. Mutual Insurance Cos., Burlington, Mass., announced today that it has selected Sarasota, Fla.-based Tropics Software Technologies (TST), a company specializing in workers' compensation systems, as an enterprise partner to provide its new integrated policy, billing and claims administration system.

In addition to managing policy issuance, policy administration, billing administration and claims administration software functions, Tropics will be utilized by A.I.M. Mutual to offer its broker partners enhanced online inquiry functionality, Web-based application submission and integrated document management capabilities, say the companies.

"During the past year, we analyzed the features and functionality of numerous software vendors servicing the workers' compensation industry," says Ray Pata, A.I.M. Mutual's manager of technology and systems. "The completeness of the core policy, billing and claims systems, coupled with the user-friendly nature of Tropics' Web portals, will help A.I.M. Mutual continue to provide first-class service to our brokers and policyholders."
