Providence Mutual Launches Agent Portal

Rhode Island-based Providence Mutual Fire Insurance Co. completed the first phase in a new agent portal, according to iter8 Inc., Toronto, an insurance solutions software developer.

The first phase was designed to provide home and auto programs across seven states; new business quoting and submissions; straight-through processing for new business and referral processing for exceptions; and integration to claims history and conviction databases, property-value estimating, credit services and geo-coding distance-to-coast information.

A rich rules engine that can be configured by business users; an easy-to-use, intuitive user interface; extensive functionality; and the combination of an agent and underwriter desktop deliver a solution to Providence Mutual, says iter8.

The next phase is scheduled to commence immediately, and will see the integration of comparative raters, with additional deliverables to include the integration to Agency Management Systems through bridge solutions from Transformation Station and TransactNOW; new business quoting and submissions for business owners policies; the addition of home and auto policy inquiry; and endorsement capabilities.
