Zurich Life, Schaumburg, Ill., launched Z-appoint, an online agent appointment system. With a few clicks, an agent can complete the appointment process, replacing the fax paper trail of company documents and state licenses traditionally required. The company believes the approach to agent and corporate appointments is so unique that is has a patent pending for the process. Once the application information is delivered electronically to Zurich Life, it is entered into the company's home office system. The final step automatically checks available sources of state license information, and once the data is confirmed, the agent is appointed with Zurich Life. Z-appoint is the newest in Zurich Life's suite of electronic and paperless services for agents. The company launched its paperless term life application process in January and has processed almost 2000 applications to date.
