Zurich Names Whitehead to Lead Excess Casualty Unit

Schaumburg, Ill. – Zurich North America Commercial announced Kevin Whitehead has been appointed head of its excess casualty unit. In this role, he will lead excess casualty operations across the United States, with oversight of 11 offices.

Whitehead brings more than 20 years of insurance industry experience to his new role. Prior to joining Zurich, he spent nine years with AIG Excess Casualty, most recently as EVP – national accounts, responsible for managing all aspects of the division and leading a nationwide team.

“Kevin brings us a strong strategic outlook complemented by in-depth knowledge of customers’ needs,” says Seraina Maag, president of Zurich North America Commercial’s Specialties unit. “He has worked extensively with producers in this market, and is committed to providing responsive, responsible solutions for their changing needs.”

Whitehead says, “Zurich’s Excess Casualty group has built a reputation for service to our customers and producers, providing products that respond to today’s environment. For example, we offer the advantages of our A/B form for lead and excess umbrella coverage, as well as follow form excess liability coverage to help manage gaps in customers’ protection. We have also recently added to our capacity, offering up to $50 million in excess capacity limits in many situations. Our goal is to continue to recognize our market’s evolving needs and to respond responsibly.”

Whitehead also spent two years in facultative reinsurance with CNA Reinsurance, and 10 years with Chubb Insurance, primarily in excess casualty.
