A recent study by recruiting and compensation website Glassdoor identified the top paid jobs in America, based on what employers are paying for those hires. Data and information technology jobs took 10 of the top 25 spots.
Software development manager
Median base salary of $132,000. Ranked number 4 on the overall lineup. These individuals develop and oversee the systems between computer programs. Job growth is expected to be 17 percent from 2014 to 2024.
Software architect
Median base salary of $128,250. Ranked number 7 on the overall lineup. These individuals create computer programs and communicate technical plans to company executives.
IT manager
Median base salary of $120,000. Ranked number 9 on the overall lineup. These individuals are responsible for executing on the IT goals of the organization and oversee hardware and software.
Solutions architect
Median base salary of $120,000. Ranked number 10 on the overall lineup. These individuals lead or help design products and projects and are heavily involved with the technical side.
Applications development manager
Median base salary of $120,000. Ranked number 12 on the overall lineup. These individuals oversee and improve internal systems and software.
