The 2010 ACORD award ceremony at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas included presentation of a new award, ACORD Certified Expert (ACE). The award went the insurance agents who best implemented the ACORD standard.
"This is an important milestone for ACORD, and for our new designation program," said ACORD President & CEO Gregory Maciag. "I want to congratulate all of our new ACORD Experts. Their accomplishments will benefit the industry. We have now defined what it really means to be an expert in ACORD standards implementation."
The ACE awards were presented by Maciag, ACORD Board Chair John Leonard, president and CEO of MEMIC, and ACORD Chief Learning Officer Beth Grossman. The names of the ACE winners were announced and each was handed a certificate.
Maciag also presented the Rainmaker award to China Life Ltd. for translating the ACORD Life, Annuity and Health into Chinese. Anlin (Frank) Liu, regional president of China Life, accepted the award. ACORD said in a release that the award is an honor given to those who have “shown outstanding achievements in the advancement of standards for the insurance industry.”
