Adjusters need to find "gotchas" hidden in plaintiffs' legal filings in cases against insurers concerning claims, according to Mubbin Rabbani, chief product officer at CLARA Analytics, a claims intelligence and management platform.
CLARA Analytics recently expanded its Claims DocIntel Pro service, which integrates with the company's other claims management products to improve claims processing and catch key, time-sensitive information in legal filings, to help prevent large damage awards against insurers. Claims DocIntel Pro applies GenAI to claims data to produce these insights.

In an auto accident liability claim involving bodily injury, for example, an adjuster might receive a plaintiff's legal demand comprised of thousands of pages, Rabbani said. "These legal demands are getting more and more complex," he said. "There's more and more allegations and complexities in what is being demanded. Legal precedents like instances of cases, particularly prior cases in individual states. These complicate how you respond."
CLARA Analytics research has found that thousand-page long legal demands require people two to three minutes to read per page. The company's AI technology in Claims DocIntel Pro can review a 1,000-page document, summarize it, extract key points and collate the information in about 10 to 15 minutes, according to Rabbani.
For injury claims, whether for auto insurance, workers compensation or other forms of insurance, Claims DocIntel Pro compiles comprehensive initial injury information, ongoing medical care details, and prior injuries, according to a CLARA Analytics press release. The service produces intelligent summaries designed by the company's subject matter experts to serve adjusters in their work.
