The 30-plus year industry veteran will play a pivotal role in building up AIG’s data analytics capabilities to improve pricing decisions made by the carrier, says Peter Zaffino, CEO, General Insurance. He last served as president and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance’s U.K. and Southern European geographies. Bolt also spent seven years as director of performance management at Lloyd’s of London.

“I look forward to working with Peter and the General Insurance executive leadership team to define consistent, global underwriting standards that achieve a well-balanced portfolio and deliver strong, sustainable financial performance,” said Bolt, who will officially join AIG in January and report directly to Zaffino.

“Tom is an exceptionally talented leader with deep industry expertise and a proven track record of delivering outstanding financial and operational performance," added Zaffino. "I look forward to working with him to drive General Insurance’s underwriting strategy.”
