AIG has appointed Anthony Vidovich as new chief claims officer of its general insurance division, effective May 14.
Vidovich comes to the insurer by way of XL Catlin, where he last served as global head of claims for insurance and reinsurance since 2015. The industry vet is now responsible for the strategic direction and governance of AIG’s claims operation, reporting to Peter Zaffino, CEO of general insurance. “Anthony is an accomplished property and casualty executive with a demonstrated track record of managing complex claims and legal issues,” said Zaffino, in a statement. “His significant industry expertise and experience building high performing global teams will be valued additions in this very important role for general insurance.”

Last fall, AIG reshuffled its organizational infrastructure, doing away with its commercial and consumer lines of business.
