Allianz Appoints New AVP, Strategy and Business Development

Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America appointed Emily Reitan to the role of assistant vice president of Strategy and Business Development. Tasked with responsibility for developing the company’s future market strategy, Reitan will lead a cross-company strategic team to evaluate, assess, and test growth options for the life insurer.

Prior to the appointment, Reitan held a role as director of executive projects where she managed the Office of the CEO and reported to President and CEO Walter White. In that role, she led key strategic projects on behalf of the CEO and coordinated deliverables for the parent company, Allianz SE, along with other operating entities within Allianz globally.

“Emily’s knowledge of our business and the industry will be critical to how we research and prioritize the strategic options we have in front of us to grow our business,” said Nancy Jones, Allianz CMO, to whom Reitan will report. “Her knowledge of products, distribution channels and finance will help ensure we maintain a disciplined approach to our future market strategy.”

Reitan has also held the chief financial officer position for Questar Capital, a subsidiary of Allianz Life. And, prior to joining Allianz Life in 2005, Reitan was a senior financial analyst for Cardinal Health based in San Diego.
