Minnesota-based Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America has promoted d Joe Dahlquist to director of IT strategic planning and communication in the Technology division.
Dahlquist, who last was an IT manager in relationship management, is responsible for leading senior IT staff in key communications, strategy and design for major IT projects. He also is tasked with collaborating with business partners on prioritizing the company’s IT infrastructure needs. He reports to VP of IT business engagement Patrick Christiansen.
“Joe brings much experience to his role and is a strong leader in the IT division at Allianz Life,” said Christiansen in a statement. “We benefit from his ability to drive communications, meet specific targets and collaborate with key partners across the organization.”
Dahlquist has been with Allianz Life since 2001 where he began as an operations analyst. After four years, he moved into a role as an IT manager for the Infrastructure area where he implemented a more effective business model for major incident reporting that affected business operations. He also has worked at 2nd Swing in Plymouth, Minn. and Funco, Inc. in Eden Prairie, Minn.
