Applied Systems Receives Two Technology Patents

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has awarded Applied Systems two patents for technology in Applied Systems Epic, an agency and brokerage management system. The patented technologies are designed to provide data protection and intuitive data presentation capabilities in Epic.

Applied Systems says patent 8,234,219 is for technology that protects potentially sensitive information, such as client Social Security numbers and other confidential information, managed and maintained in Epic. This patented system, method and apparatus for protecting personal data allow insurance organizations to manage clients and policies more effectively, consistently and securely.

Patent 8,290,971 is for technology that intuitively presents information within Epic, Applied Systems adds. This patented method and apparatus present requested data by comparing the total quantity of displayable data items to the display control size. This enables Epic users to view a mix of requested data to effectively service clients, the company said.

Applied Systems says Epic’s architecture provides agents and brokers with a single, scalable platform to automate workflows, mitigate risk, reduce operating expenses and drive sustainable growth and profitability.
