Applied Systems Client Network (ASCnet), an association that promotes successful technology and business practices, announced that Steven Johnson has been named CEO.

Johnson is an association professional who has experience working with entrepreneurial business owners to improve their firms’ profitability and success, said Lisa Parry Becker, chair of ASCnet and VP at Langhorne, Pa.-based William B. Parry & Son Ltd.

He has held staff leadership roles in five associations over the last 26 years. Most recently, he was executive director of the National Association of Quick Printers.

Parry Becker says Johnson immediately brings to ASCnet skills in staff and volunteer leadership, meeting and trade show management, financial management, strategic planning and implementation, membership recruitment and retention, internal and external communication, new program development and marketing.

“As a chief executive, Steve has worked closely with an engaged volunteer board and committee members to create a vision, strategic plan and a corresponding plan of work that delivers increased value to the membership,” she says. “He understands the challenges facing small business and is committed to providing them with education and resources to help them be successful.”

His experience in leading associations through transition times will be vital as ASCnet moves its headquarters to suburban Chicago later this year, Parry Becker says.
