AssureStart, a company offering business property and general liability insurance to small businesses online, has named Chad Zenner as its new CMO.

Zenner will drive AssureStart’s digital marketing and branding activities, and work to improve the online customer experience at AssureStart.com. Zenner joins AssureStart from Principal Financial Group, where he served as director of digital marketing. At Principal, he improved the digital customer experience through design, technology and operational efficiencies. He also developed online marketing strategies and managed the brand’s digital ecosystem.

Before Principal, Zenner was senior VP of web marketing at Marsh & McLennan, where he united hundreds of websites offering insurance-based products. He has held marketing positions at Kronos Talent Management Division, B2E Direct, Massini Group and Direct Marketing Solutions, as well.

“As we continue our national product rollout, Chad will help us tell the AssureStart story and engage with small business owners when they’re looking to buy insurance coverage,” said AssureStart CEO Greg Tacchetti. “In addition to his deep digital marketing expertise, Chad has a record of success as a strategic thinker and group leader.”
