Atlas General and Rockingham Group to Partner

Insurance agency Atlas General Insurance Services has announced it has partnered with The Rockingham Group, a holding company offering a range of insurance products, to offer three exclusive new programs, including general contractors general liability, artisan contractors general liability and a commercial multi-peril package.

The new programs are designed to serve the needs of agents initially in 16 states across the nation. The programs will be written on Rockingham Casualty Company paper, which is part of The Rockingham Group, according to Atlas.

"We are delighted to partner with The Rockingham Group to expand our general liability and package offerings," said Joe Zuk, president of the Atlas Commercial Division. "Rockingham's strong balance sheet, excellent rating and experienced management make it the ideal partner for Atlas. Together, we will present our network of producing partners with an exclusive general liability and package solution. We look forward to building upon these initial programs with Rockingham and continuing to deliver our agency plant exclusive and proprietary products."

The general contractor general liability coverage is for small to medium-sized general contractors including residential general contractors with less than $15 million in annual receipts and less than $3 million for any given project and commercial general contractors with less than $45 million in annual receipts and less than $15 million for any given project. The industry segments include residential home-builders, commercial builders and general contractors involved in residential or commercial remodeling and tenants' improvements.

The artisan contractor segment of the program provides general liability coverage for small to medium-sized artisan contractors. This includes residential and commercial contractors involved in new construction and service/repair/remodel work with less than $2 million in annual receipts, less than $1 million in annual payroll and less than 15 employees.

The multi-peril package includes property and general liability coverages, and will follow similar industry segment appetites to Atlas' exclusive workers' compensation programs. These segments include, but are not limited to: automotive services, restaurants and hospitality, retail and wholesale trade, light manufacturing and healthcare.

According to Atlas, the programs feature attractive broker commissions and incentives, flexible payment plans and loss control services, and claims service provided by Sedgwick Claims Management Services, Inc. The program is available in Alabama, Mississippi, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

The partnership of Atlas and Rockingham pairs unique strengths and a shared, long-term strategy of diversification, said Lloyd Yavener, VP of Specialty Lines at Rockingham, added in the statement. "We share core organizational values centered on service and valuable solutions, and developed these programs with a focus on the contemporary needs and expectations of the market."
