California Casualty, Vermont Mutual select Guidewire for transformation

Two regional multiline personal insurers have selected Guidewire products to accelerate their digital transformations, the vendor announced this week

California Casualty extends an existing relationship with Guidewire by adding Guidewire PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, Rating Management, and Client Data Management as its new core computing environment. Guidewire PartnerConnect consulting member Ernst & Young LLP has been selected to lead the implementation project.

The insurer plans to integrate all of these products simultaneously in a phased approach across the 44 jurisdictions it does business. It has been a customer of Guidewire ClaimCenter since 2008.

“We are excited to continue our partnership with Guidewire through the selection and implementation of additional InsurancePlatform products to enhance the levels of service we provide,” said Michael Bower, Executive Vice President, Technology and Investments, California Casualty. “We are looking forward to all of the benefits we will receive from running modern systems that complement our previous investments in ClaimCenter.”

Meanwhile, Vermont Mutual will implement Guidewire InsuranceNow 's policy administration, claims management, and billing functionality in three phases.

“We found InsuranceNow and the cloud deployment option to be very attractive as speed-to-market is a critically important business driver for us,” said Joanne Currier, vice president, Information Technology, Vermont Mutual. “InsuranceNow will enable us to stay current with our core applications - benefiting quickly when technology enhancements and new integrations are introduced.”
