Celent, a research and advisory firm, has named Karlyn Carnahan as research director, where she'll focus on P&C underwriting, claims, distribution management, and insurance strategy in North America. Carnahan is a former principal with Novarica.
Carnahan has attended more than 40 research and 80 consulting engagements advising on strategy for insurance clients during her six years as an industry analyst. "I'm excited to leverage Celent's global network to explore how insurers are tackling similar issues across the world, as well as the innovations they are developing," she said.
She has more than 20 years of experience performing senior business leadership roles in marketing, product innovation, and commercial underwriting. She also has startup experience with one Internet venture targeting online distribution for insurance products, and another providing a service to help people securely organize their critical information.
"[Carnahan’s] deep insurance knowledge, coupled with her practical strategy and entrepreneurial experience, will be a huge asset to Celent clients not only in North America but also globally," Jamie Macgregor, senior VP of Celent's insurance practice.
