Century Casualty Seals BI Deal

Georgia-based property and casualty insurer Century Casualty Co. will use business intelligence software from 4Sight Business Intelligence for Property & Casualty insurance, the companies report.

"We were looking for a business intelligence solution which would allow us to provide reports, dashboards and ad-hoc reporting capabilities to our users, both internal and external," said Hugh Nelson, Century Casualty’s SVP. "4Sight Business Intelligence for P&C provides us an affordable solution that provides excellent features without a tremendous amount of effort."

The property/casualty insurer, which specializes in commercial package policies of standard business risks and provides underwriting management and policy processing services for group and association captive insurers, will use off-the-shelf business intelligence features.

For example, included in the solution are close to 100 pre-configured reports, dashboards and hundreds of analytics, with 'what-if' capabilities, whether in underwriting, claims, billing, management, reinsurance or other areas. Further, it includes standardized processes that allow carriers to typically have users viewing reports in less than 45 days, notes 4Sight.

Nelson said the experience of the 4Sight staff and the ability of the solutions provider to be able to bridge the insurer’s systems, contributed to the deal, providing one source for all of their reporting needs without it becoming a major project with a long and costly implementation cycle.

"Carriers and MGAs of all sizes have multiple data sources and requirements for a single source of reporting coupled with the ability to expand as needed," explained Robert Clark, Development Director at 4Sight, "Century Casualty is now able to have enterprise business intelligence capabilities at a price point that fits their budget without sacrificing any functionality."
