Cincinnati Specialty Underwriters Chooses Camilion's Policy Admin System

Toronto — Camilion Solutions Inc., Toronto, a provider of insurance product development solutions and next-generation policy administration systems, today announced that The Cincinnati Specialty Underwriters Insurance Co. (CSU), Ohio, the excess and surplus lines subsidiary of The Cincinnati Insurance Co., has gone into production across multiple states using Camilion's Authority Suite.

Working collaboratively, Camilion and CSU were able to configure, integrate and launch Authority Suite in less than six months, the vendor says, and CSU now is issuing E&S policies on the same day they are submitted through an affiliated insurance brokerage subsidiary. As part of the total implementation, Authority Suite was integrated with several third-party solutions including document generation, document management, address standardization, a data warehouse, claims, single sign-on security and online information services.

Leveraging a service-oriented architecture and built on a modern, tools- and rules-based technology platform, Authority Suite is designed to support the entire policy lifecycle including application data capture, qualification, rating, quote management, bind and issuance. Camilion says Authority Suite, which features a consolidated underwriting workstation and straight-through processing, is powered by Camilion's ProductAuthority, a "pure" product configurator built specifically for insurance. ProductAuthority creates agility by externalizing all product data and rules from multiple, hard-coded operational systems into a central repository, where complex products can be easily configured and modified.

According to Camilion, Authority Suite was CSU's enterprise policy administration system choice because of its flexible, tools and rules-based solution that CSU can configure and maintain in-house.

"We chose Camilion for three reasons: Authority Suite is a next-generation policy administration solution; Camilion has successfully delivered solutions for other larger insurers; and most importantly, Camilion has deep insurance and implementation expertise," says Don Doyle, SVP for Cincinnati Specialty Underwriters. "Although industry consultants recommended doing a proof of concept before selecting a vendor, we chose to commit to Camilion and drive to aggressive production dates. Camilion responded quickly and with the same spirit of commitment. We couldn't have asked for a better partner. Our ability to provide real-time delivery of a policy to our agency customers is a unique advantage in the E&S market."

"We're proud to have Cincinnati Specialty Underwriters as our first live customer for Authority Suite, just a few months after formally launching the solution at last year's ACORD LOMA show," says Ross Orrett, Camilion's president and CEO. "We are seeing a great deal of interest in our next-generation policy administration system and are committed to providing valuable clients, like CSU, with a world-class solution that enables them to meet their strategic objectives."
