ClaimVantage Systems Available with Reed Group MDGuidelines

ClaimVantage’s cloud computing disability claims system is now available with Reed Group’s MDGuidelines, a return-to-work (RTW) reference toolset with more than 1,300 topics. MDGuidelines includes evidence-based, physician-reviewed RTW duration guidelines; a powerful predictive modeling tool that enables case managers to tailor guidelines to individual employees; medical monographs suitable for educating employees; and occupational treatment guidelines by the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, according to ClaimVantage.

A key product feature of MDGuidelines is identified as the toolset’s two types of RTW durations: idealized durations, the actual time it takes for the injury or illness to heal; and real-world durations based on millions of cases. ClaimVantage says that comparing both types of durations allows case managers to identify psychosocial factors that extend recovery times and apply additional resources as needed to help employees return to their normal productive endeavors.

“MDGuidelines embedded in ClaimVantage creates a powerful decision-support toolset for benchmarking and improving outcomes for employee absence and return-to-work claims,” says Jon Seymour, M.D., Reed Group president, guidelines.

The ClaimVantage Absence Management system is intended to help companies manage the complexities of complying with federal and state FMLA regulations, and it uses software-as-a-service (SaaS) technology to allow employers and their representatives to step through absence intake, eligibility and determination processes with easy-to-use wizards to adjudicate employee absence. Absence accumulators are managed and updated automatically by the system for accurate tracking and processing, says the company.

Claim Vantage Disability Claim software, which uses SaaS technology, is designed to support the full life cycle of claim management, including intake, assignment, eligibility, case management, workflow, tasks, payments and operational reports, and it is claim analyst-centric to drive accurate and timely claim decisions, says ClaimVantage.
