CNA Thinking Years Ahead on Distribution Tech

Commercial insurer CNA named Rocco Orlando SVP of sales and distribution on Tuesday. Orlando, who has been with the company since 2012, will be responsible for “executing strategies that drive field sales performance and distribution strategies to improve the company's market position with its producers,” the company says.

Orlando tells Insurance Networking News in an e-mail that technology is a “key component of our relationship with producers.” The agent force embraces digital technologies and demands continuous improvement, he continues.

“There is a growing demand for sales, account management and self-service capabilities enabled by Web, social, mobile and analytics. We are investing in these capabilities while always looking three to five years ahead, with our distributors, at the next technologies that will enhance our relationships,” Orlando says.

The company’s producers were “instrumental” in the redesign of CNA’s webpage, which went live last summer, Orlando adds.  Responsive design for different mobile platforms, for example, was a major concern of agents.

CNA also appointed Jeff Zehr VP of segment underwriting this week.
