Resolutions For 2002Remember when New Year's resolutions were in vogue? Maybe it's me, but I didn't hear anyone proclaim their resolutions for 2002. Maybe it's because people today have a harder time keeping promises (who can forget "Read my lips, no new taxes!"). Or maybe it's because after all of the resolutions we've made over the years, we've systematically eliminated all our bad habits and traits (I doubt that very much).

Personally, I enjoy the arrival of a new year. Following the holiday festivities, it's a time when you can wipe the slate clean, be optimistic about the future and prepare yourself for unforeseen challenges. Optimism is an emotion that we as a nation have been lacking since the Sept. 11 tragedy. Coupled with the economic downturn and uncertainty about the economy, the past four months have been emotionally draining for Americans.

And that's why I welcome the arrival of the New Year. At Insurance Networking, our challenge this year is to provide better coverage of the insurance industry-more details on strategic IT spending and more profiles on successes and failures.

So, against my better judgment, I will make these resolutions:

* Insurance Networking will be more insightful in 2002. We will broaden our scope of our articles and will get more input from senior insurance executives.

* Our Web site, www.insurancenetworking.com, will expand its content by providing more news updates, more content from the magazine and more contributed articles.

* Finally, we will increase our efforts to get to know what issues our readers would like us to write about, and provide a forum for our readers to voice their opinions on IT trends affecting the industry.

I invite our readers to call me, or to send an e-mail, to let us know how we can serve their needs better.
