Endurance Appoints Head of U.S. Property Catastrophe Treaty Reinsurance

Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd., a specialty provider of P&C insurance and reinsurance, announced that Rene Lamer will assume the role of senior VP and head of U.S. property catastrophe treaty reinsurance. Lamer, a Bermudian, will continue to report to Stephen Young, executive VP and head of global catastrophe reinsurance.

"Rene’s extensive experience with catastrophe models, and his strong underwriting capabilities have contributed to the Property Catastrophe group's overall success,” says Young. “We are looking forward to Rene taking on a broader role within the Bermuda Reinsurance team."

Endurance says Lamer joined the company in March 2002 as a catastrophe analyst within its Bermuda-based Property Catastrophe Reinsurance team and was promoted to VP of U.S. property catastrophe treaty reinsurance in 2006. In 2008, he assumed additional responsibilities as head of catastrophe-linked products, focusing on alternative catastrophe reinsurance.
