Esurance Launches in Alberta, Canada

Esurance, a division of Allstate, has expanded to the Great White North with availability of its auto insurance products in the Canadian province of Alberta.

This is the first international expansion for Esurance, which was bought by Allstate in 2011. Allstate itself has had Canadian operations since 1953.

Esurance in Canada is led by president and COO Jonathan Adkisson, who has been CFO of the American company since 2003.

"Our research indicates there is an underserved segment of the Canadian market that prefers a self-directed experience," Adkisson says in a statement. "Esurance offers a new choice to help Albertans save time and money on their auto insurance."
