Fleet insurer Atlas to deploy Nauto telematics technology with customers

Atlas Financial Holdings, a fleet insurer, will look to deploy cameras, telematics and data technology from the insurtech Nauto across its taxi, livery and paratransit customers, the companies announced today.

Atlas will work with customers to install Nauto's internal- and external-facing cameras in the fleets' vehicles. In addition to capturing video of the inside and outside of the car, Nauto's device will also collect telematics data that will help insurer and policyholder detect and score distracted driving behavior and improve risk assessment.

The goal is to help reduce claims by having a more holistic view of crash incidents and introduce information that could exonerate fleet drivers, the companies say. \

“We are excited to offer Nauto as a tremendous benefit to our fleet customers,” said Scott Wollney, President and CEO of Atlas Financial Holdings. “Nauto’s safety features and the insights its data platform delivers will enhance the safety and efficiency of our customers’ businesses and at the same time, will help reduce loss costs and improve our insurance operations through smarter risk prediction.”

Nauto's AI platform takes in all the data from its device to learn how drivers interact with other vehicles, road conditions and other factors. The company won Plug & Play's inaugural insurtech expo last year.
