GEICO Introduces Mobile Game for Young Drivers

In the new mobile game, GEICO Tricky Traffic presents players with challenges as they drive and is designed to test drivers’ reaction time as well as their driver etiquette.

According to a press release, pedestrians spring across your path as drivers make their way through busy intersections, cars come at you at high-speeds, and tests general practices, such as who has the right-of-way and distance between cars.

The GEICO Gecko also makes appearances and offers safe driving tips.

After completing rounds, players can go to the next level. They also can earn a badge and share scores with friends on Twitter and Facebook.

“GEICO Tricky Traffic not only entertains drivers, but also illustrates the basic rules of the road,” said Janice Minshall, AVP, GEICO. “This is another effort for GEICO to encourage drivers to learn the importance of safe driving.”

Peter Meoli, GEICO’s mobile development team manager, noted that the “GEICO Tricky Traffic game is one of the company’s first apps specifically made for young drivers. However, many experienced drivers might find it entertaining and challenging, similar to the Guinea Pig Getaway app.”

The company noted that the release date coincides with National Teen Driver Safety Week, October 14-20. GEICO Tricky Traffic mobile game app supports iPhone, iPad and Android versions 2.2 and up.
