GEICO Promotes Regional Claims Exec

GEICO has named Joe Nestegard as AVP of claims for the auto insurer’s Tucson regional office. He previously was the auto damage director of GEICO’s Fredericksburg, Va., regional operations. Nestegard succeeds Rhett Rayburn, who has been named VP of GEICO’s southeast region in Macon, Ga.

“Joe brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the position that few others possess,” said Martha Furnas, GEICO regional VP. “He is well prepared to successfully meet the challenge of running our regional claim’s operation.”

Nestegard joined the company as an auto damage adjuster in Atlanta in 1988; he was promoted to supervisor in Pensacola, Fla., in 1993, and auto damage manager in 1997. In 2002, he was promoted to auto damage director at the Virginia Beach regional office and assumed the role of auto damage director in Fredericksburg in 2012. He also serves on the executive board of Drive Smart Virginia, and graduated with honors from Georgia College and State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
