Humana Inc. named Chris Hunter as senior VP and chief strategy officer. Hunter will be responsible for the company’s strategic planning processes, mergers and acquisitions, and joint ventures, effective January 6.
Hunter has strategic planning experience with both private and public sector growth companies, Humana said, bringing health industry experience to the position. He most recently served as the president of provider markets at TriZetto, a health information technology firm serving health care providers.
Humana added that Hunter also has served as senior VP of emerging markets at BlueCross Blue Shield of Tennessee, and president and CEO of Onlife Health, BlueCross BlueShield’s national health and wellness subsidiary.
