IIABA Names Young Government Affairs Director

The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA) announced Ryan Young as senior director for government affairs.

The Big “I” said Young will serve on its bipartisan assembly as the liaison to the Republican congressional office. Young has served on the House Committee on Transportation, and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Highways, Transit and Pipelines under Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska). He was also legislative director to Rep. Kenny Marchant (R-Texas), where he became familiar with issues concerning the Financial Services Committee.

“With so many issues before Congress that are so critical to our members and insurance consumers, we are glad to complete our team with a professional with such pertinent and extensive legislative experience,” Charles Symington, Jr., IIABA SVP for government affairs.

Young succeeds Joe Wall, who will join Goldman Sachs’ Capitol Hill team.
