The IIABA and Reagan Consulting say the Best Practices Study was started in 1993 to help IIABA members build and maintain the value of their agencies. By studying the leading agencies and brokers in the country, the association says it hoped to provide member agents with meaningful performance benchmarks and business strategies that they could adopt or adapt for use in improving agency performance.
Once every three years, agencies are nominated for each of the studies’ revenue categories by the insurance community. The agencies submit operational information in many areas. Then, IIABA and Reagan Consulting evaluate and rank the results, culminating in the top 30 agencies in each revenue category earning the status of “Best Practices Agency.”
