Insurity Buys Valen Analytics

Core systems vendor Insurity has acquired Valen Analytics, which provides data and analytics technology for P&C insurers. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The buy comes at a busy time for insurance technology vendor M&A. Insurity in particular has been aggressive, acquiring Systema Software last month and Tropics Software in June 2016. Just in the time since Insurity's Systema buy, Guidewire announced plans to acquire ISCS and Duck Creek acquired a data management company, Yodil.

“The evolution of the personal and small commercial insurance markets is a focal point of incumbents and new entrants alike, and a contributory approach will help propel the capabilities of insurers who want to assert their relevance in delivering a modern customer experience," says Dax Craig, Valen CEO, in a statement.

Valen will be rebranded Valen Analytics, an Insurity company, following the example of Tropics and Oceanwide, which Insurity acquired in 2014.

Valen's analytics technology, InsureRight, will be made available to customers of Insurity's core platform, Insurance Enterprise View.
