Ironshore Inc. Introduces Employment Practice Liability Insurance

Ironshore Inc., a provider of specialty commercial property and casualty coverage, announced that its Specialty Casualty division will now offer Employment Practice Liability Insurance (EPLI) for its public entity clientele. The new employer insurance emerged from an announcement earlier this month that the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) had received a record number of employment discrimination complaints in the previous year, a trend the EEOC expects to continue to flourish due to the current economic climate.

“Over the past several years, the public sector has experienced an explosion of litigation by public entity employees involving workplace issues,” said Susan Kostro, senior vice president, Ironshore Specialty Casualty. “Ironshore’s creation of an array of EPLI risk management services enables us to assist public entity employers to prepare and manage litigation exposure in the new environment of governmental regulation and enforcement of employee workplace issues.”

Ironshore has teamed with Seyfarth Shaw LLP, a national employment and labor firm, in the creation of EPLI products and services to aid employers in recognizing potential employee litigation occurrences and keeping up with the latest laws and regulations through educational materials, training programs and a quarterly newsletter.
