IVANS Helps Cincinnati Insurance Automate Commercial Policy Data

IVANS Inc., an insurance data exchange, has completed an initiative with The Cincinnati Insurance Co. that enables its agents to download selected commercial policy data to their agency management systems. This initiative automates the transfer of information from Cincinnati’s Businessowners (BOP) and Dentists Businessowners (DBOP) policies from its e-CLAS BOP/DBOP policy administration system, enabling agents to receive updated policy information electronically from within their agency management systems.

IVANS says that Cincinnati Insurance, a customer since 1990, has more than 850 agents downloading personal lines using IVANS services. These download transactions include auto, homeowners, fire and umbrella. The carrier also uses IVANS Transformation Station real-time solution to upload transactions for both its personal and commercial lines.

IVANS says the download solution enables carriers to deliver personal lines, commercial lines or claims – using ACORD standards – to agencies across more than 40 agency management systems. It synchronizes the policy information that resides on the carrier system with the agency system by updating or loading data into the agency’s system electronically. Commercial lines download is gaining traction in the insurance industry, according to IVANS, since the industry-wide adoption of minimum data sets has taken the guesswork out of what data is required and where to find it. Meanwhile, more agents are looking to enhance the customer experience via a single workflow that maintains all of their carrier’s policies, IVANS notes.
