L&T Infotech has launched insurance Mobile Components (iMC), a suite designed to help insurers adopt the policy administration process to smartphones. The program includes a guide addressing usage on the various types of handsets and platforms, a business case template, pre-implementation assessment model and reference implementation roadmap.

“The insurance industry is yet to exploit the full potential of mobile devices across the value chain. We believe that there is significant untapped business value,” said Avinash Lele, EVP, insurance, L&T Infotech. “iMC, with its rich suite of infrastructure and domain components, will enable insurance companies [to] leapfrog from early stages of strategy formulation to real-world implementation of mobile solutions.”

The company says iMC caters to areas of marketing & distribution, risk inspection, claims adjustment, self-service and emergency response.
