Liberty Mutual Debuts Group Benefits Mobile App

Liberty Mutual Insurance’s Group Benefits operation became the first to introduce a mobile application that makes it easier for employees and clients to manage their benefits.

MyLibertyMobile’s first application is intermittent leave time reporting, which allows users to enter time away from work, during approved leaves of absence, with their web-enabled mobile phones.

The challenge was to develop an app that was simple and secure, according to Jean Scarrow, COO with Liberty Mutual Group Benefits.

“It started with understanding our customers’ need to provide options to their employees. Once we created a business strategy, we partnered with internal and external developers to design, test and launch our mobile apps that would bring convenience and value to our customers,” Scarrow told Insurance Networking News.

Additional applications will be released in coming months. All MyLibertyMobile applications will be available for qualified Group Benefits’ customers to provide to their employees.

“We are the first group disability and life carrier to provide our corporate clients with mobile apps that make it easier for their employees to manage their benefits. The mobile apps respond to a strong customer need in way that employees find convenient, easy and safe,” said Scarrow.

All information transmitted through mobile devices is seamlessly integrated into Liberty Mutual Group Benefits’ tracking and reporting tools for employers.

“We have made a strategic commitment and a substantial investment to deliver technology tools that address employers’ needs in today’s mobile environment,” Scarrow said. “The mobile applications we’re building expand ways for employers to manage absence and return to work. The ultimate goal is to deliver convenience and flexibility to employers and employees.”
