Liberty Mutual Deploys New Core Tech in the Cloud

Liberty Mutual Insurance has rolled out a new single-business platform, leveraging cloud and agile technologies from EIS Group and Amazon Web Services, the company announced today.

EIS Group’s Core Insurance suite will replace a number of internal systems within Liberty Mutual to simplify data movement throughout the carrier’s business units. Additionally, its cloud-based software was selected to increase Liberty Mutual’s security, speed to market, and offer bilingual capabilities.

Amazon Web Services was chosen to host the new platform in the cloud model. The new system, which Liberty Mutual calls Serview, serves the carrier's group benefits and individual life and annuity operations.

“Technology is rapidly transforming all of Liberty Mutual’s businesses,” says John Heveran, SVP of Liberty Mutual Insurance and CIO for commercial insurance, in a statement.

Rebecca Schechter, EVP of commercial insurance added, “To best meet customer expectations and reach our goal [bring products to market in nine months], we knew we needed a technology platform that allowed for quick, iterative development, mirroring our agile business approach.”
