Lloyds Banking Group Cuts 200 Insurance Jobs in U.K.

Lloyds Banking Group plc is cutting 200 insurance jobs in the U.K. according to a report in Computerworld U.K.

The job losses will be spread throughout the enterprise, and employees in application development and maintenance, service delivery and enterprise architecture roles will be impacted.

The job cuts are the direct result of a January 2009 merger between Lloyds and Scottish bank HBOS, a provider of bancassurance. Four months ago, Lloyds announced it was cutting 4,500 jobs.
