Marsh & McLennan Acquires New York Independent Agency

Marsh & McLennan Agency plans to build a national business to serve the needs of mid-sized companies across the country. In a step to do so, it has acquired The NIA Group LLC http://www.niagroup.com/, one of the largest independent insurance agencies in the Northeast, as well as its New York City office Kornreich-NIA.

Headquartered in Paramus, N.J., The NIA Group has approximately 400 employees and provides property/casualty insurance, employee benefits, personal insurance and life insurance/estate planning.
