MassMutual/Financial Professionals Donate to Non-Profits

Springfield, Mass. — Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co. (MassMutual) donated more than $500,000 through the company’s matching gift program for its network of financial professionals last year, and also awarded eight $10,000 grants to non-profit organizations supported locally by the philanthropic efforts of its local financial professionals.

Each year MassMutual helps recognize and encourage the generosity of its financial professionals by matching their charitable contributions to qualified non-profit organizations, and making additional direct donations to the organizations they actively support. Last year, $518,019 was distributed through the company’s Matching Gift Program, providing support to more than 600 organizations including the Leukemia Lymphoma Society and the American Cancer Society.

In addition, MassMutual awarded eight $10,000 grants to non-profit organizations where its financial professionals regularly volunteer their time.

“Volunteering and community involvement have always been an important part of MassMutual’s culture,” says Trish Robinson, SVP, strategic communications and community responsibility and deputy head of government relations. “We are proud of the role our financial professionals play in helping families and businesses build their financial future, and equally proud of their generosity and countless hours they dedicate to charitable organizations in their communities.”

Through the Community Service Awards (CSA) program, MassMutual will distribute $80,000 to eligible non-profit organizations where members of MassMutual’s sales force volunteer their time. The annual competition recognizes exemplary volunteer involvement, and dedication to charitable organizations and philanthropic projects.

MassMutual started its Community Service Awards programs in 1996. Since then, the company has donated more than $960,000 in CSA grants on its financial professionals’ behalf. To apply for a CSA grant, eligible financial professionals must demonstrate a high degree of commitment to the organizations’ they work with and their community.
