McCarthy Joins Guardian as EVP, Human Resources

New York — The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America (Guardian) announced that John McCarthy has joined the company as EVP, Human Resources.
 
McCarthy has more than 30 years of experience in the field of human resources management and talent development. He will be responsible for leading Guardian's human capital strategy including recruitment, retention, training and development, benefits and compensation, performance management and employee relations. McCarthy will report to Guardian's president and CEO, Dennis Manning.
 
"John's diverse experience in human resources will be integral to Guardian's efforts to create world-class human capital services and strategies that will support the company's ongoing growth," says Manning. "He is adept at combining people strategies with business goals, and will play an important leadership role as a member of our executive management team in developing solutions to attract, retain and develop talent and improve our organizational effectiveness."
 
McCarthy joins Guardian from Wachovia Securities where he was senior managing director and human resources director. He also held senior human resources positions at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. and Royal Insurance Co.
